Honoring Lisa Marie: The Spirit Behind Our Mission
The heart of The Presley Foundation beats with the spirit of Lisa Marie Presley — a woman who believed that privilege came with responsibility.
Lisa Marie founded the original Presley Charitable Foundation in 2007, inspired by the opening of Presley Place Memphis alongside MIFA. She saw firsthand how transitional housing could transform a family's future, and she committed herself to expanding that impact.
A Legacy of Action
In 2007, Lisa Marie recorded a duet of her father Elvis's iconic "In the Ghetto" — a song about poverty, cycles of hardship, and the hope for something better. The duet reached #1 on iTunes in multiple countries, and every dollar of proceeds went directly to the Foundation.
That gesture captured everything about who Lisa Marie was: someone who used her platform not for personal gain, but to shine a light on those who needed it most.
Carrying It Forward
Today, under the leadership of President Elaine Elizabeth Presley, the Foundation continues to honor that legacy. Every family we serve, every child we support, every life we touch — it all flows from the seed Lisa Marie planted with love and determination.
We carry her forward, every single day.
